Last week the founders of Sprudge, a coffee website* that would be a much better use of your time than reading my drivel, released a book called The New Rules of Coffee.
* they call it “Sprudge Media Network,” but to be honest it sure looks like a website to me
On a bucolic commercial block in the DC suburbs which just screams small-town American goodness, you’ll find Takoma Beverage Company, otherwise known as Takoma Bev Co. This shop has quickly become a mainstay of Takoma Park, MD, a progressive, funky town hard by the DC line.
Never heard of it before but why not.
A friend planted this song in my brain today, and I’ve had it on a replay loop in the car this afternoon. I’m about halfway to playing it 21x in a row, as this gem deserves.
I’ve had my home espresso machine for a few months now, so let’s take a look at how it’s going so far.
It’s odd sometimes, the little details that will catch your attention. And because they are just a bit off or ring false, they strike a nerve and you blow them out of proportion. One example for me comes from Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

That sounds all well and good, but all I know is that for the life of me I can’t yet figure out how to produce latte art. I’m going to have to take a class to learn.
Sorry not much content lately, I was traveling last weekend (I saw Anna twice!) and have been engrossed in a book. More coming soon, including (I hope) our first guest post. But for now we turn to Editors for today’s song that deserves to be played 21x in a row.

About a year ago I was poking around the shelves of Little Red Fox in DC, admiring the gourmet foods and interesting things for sale, when my eye was captured by what anyone who has raised children would recognize as a sippy cup. Hmm.
