My wife and I went to the beach this weekend for an early celebration of our 25th anniversary. We’ve been to the Delaware beaches countless times, this visit to Rehoboth Beach, and we just love it out there.
We had a marvelous time. The weather was cold and windy but it didn’t rain. There was a wonderful dog event in the middle of town, featuring a dock dogs competition.

Just one hiccup. I’ve tried and tried, and for the life of me I can’t find anyone out at the beach who makes a drinkable espresso. Went to two places this weekend I haven’t tried before and neither was good.
One was really bad, in fact, but I felt sorry about it because the woman who made my drink said a couple times she’s bad at making that kind of coffee, and she clearly felt a bit embarrassed.
The other seemed promising, but it suffered from using beans that were seriously overroasted. I couldn’t finish my drink.
One of these days I’m going to find the holy grail, a decent espresso at the Delaware beaches, and then I’m never going to leave.
